2025 CYCAA prize winners

Awarded on April 15, 2025

Congratulations to all our applicants and winners of our third Canadian Youth Climate Action Award. We gave out eleven prizes in total and continue to be greatly impressed by the number and quality of the applications received. Presented in partnership with the Small Change Fund, the award celebrates young people across the country who are taking meaningful action against climate change.

We would like to acknowledge and thank our panel of judges as well as our many generous donors. With the funds raised, we were able to recognize several youth-led projects making a localized, intergenerational impact.

Our first prize of $7,500 went to the Burns Bog Youth Stewardship Project (photo above). Congratulations to all the prize winners and applicants for their outstanding work in mitigating climate change.

2025 award winner profiles

First prize:
Burns Bog Youth Stewardship Project

The Burns Bog Youth Stewardship Project 2024 is a groundbreaking youth-led initiative that brought together diverse organizations, Indigenous youth, and new Canadians for a shared climate restoration effort. This project was the first of its kind to unite CTS Youth Society, Youth Climate Corps, Metro Vancouver Regional Parks Foundation, Tsawwassen First Nation, Musqueam, and other partners in a collaborative approach to climate action. By focusing on restoring fire-damaged peatlands, this initiative

directly contributes to carbon sequestration, biodiversity conservation, and long-term climate resilience.
